The Liquid Lipstick Revolution

Get The Perfect Pout

Until recently liquid lipstick was the type of product you may have purchased on a special offer but kept in that junk drawer that clear out once every few years. Well not anymore. All of a sudden, in what seems like a click of a finger liquid lipsticks are available by all of our favorite brands in every shade you can think of.

What's All The Fuss About?

I know you may be thinking that liquid lipsticks will result in dry cracking lips but that’s where you’re wrong. Liquid lipsticks are now so well formulated, whilst being rich and opaque in color, with incredible staying power they keep the lips soft and hydrated too. There’s no need for any lip liner either the color is so intense that you can achieve high definition lips in seconds.

Here are 5 of my favorite liquid lipsticks that I have used and loved...

Of course Stila are on the list with their Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. You can easily make a statement with every shade from this range. It glides over the lips like silk but dries with a super comfortable semi-matte finish. My favorite nude pink color to wear is definitely the shade 'Baci'.  If I want more of a bold lip with my coloring, I love 'Ricco' It’s almost like a morello cherry color- perfect with a naked eye.

Second on the list is the mineral rich, kind to lips Bareminerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Color. It's full coverage cream-to-matte color range has a shade suited for all skin tones. As we all know when it comes to makeup one doesn’t fit all. This liquid lipstick smells divine too with extracts of vanilla and the no tack texture and added moisturizer counteracts dryness. I particularly enjoy the flexible paddle applicator as it enables lips to be covered in one smooth sweep and the ability to get into the contours of you lips for that desired defined lip. For me, my personal favorite is the shade 'Extra', it’s a flirty peachy color that looks great with a strong smoky eye or even a simple nude eye.

If a broad color range is what you’re after then look no further. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar have nailed their color range. With more than 25 super pigmented lip colors to choose from there is literally a shade for every occasion. You can even do a Rihanna and snag a shade in midnight blue if you’re feeling brave. This Liquid lipstick is enriched with hemp oil and vitamin E to hydrate the lips whilst a dose of refreshing peppermint oil leaves your lips feeling revitalized. It's difficult to choose one shade because there are so many but I really like 'Black Metal Dahlia'. I’m drawn to the metallic shimmer in this shade- it's perfect for the party season!

Long Wearing Lip Color

Meet the first liquid lip color with amplifat technology. The Fusion Beauty Lipfusion Infatuation increases and maintains body fat where you need it most. So basically it is lip filler without price tag and the needles. The amplifat concentrate actually promotes and stores your lips own natural fatty acids for never-before-achievable lip volume. This amplifat technology means that every time you pucker up using this liquid lipstick you will continue to improve the size and volume of your lips. Similar to other liquid lipsticks it applies wet and dries like smooth velvet without bleeding or feathering.

Unlike the other liquid lipsticks on my list this cult classic Elizabeth Arden number offers high impact color. It has the coverage of a lipstick but the shine of a lip-gloss. So forget lip-glosses with wishy washy coverage, this one is creamy and intensely pigmented. Also infused with conditioning emollients it keeps your pout soft and nourished. Take your pick from 6 gorgeous pinky nude shades. I’m loving 'Luscious Raspberry'.

Do you have a go to shade of lipstick? Let me know on twitter what you’re favorite shades are and if you’ve tired any liquid lipsticks. I always gravitate towards peachy nude shades but just recently I’m making an effort to be more adventurous with bolder colors to make more of a statement with my makeup.
