Boscia began with a vision to create natural, holistic products that promote beautiful skin, while helping women to be healthy on the inside and out. After discovering that preservatives and artificial colors caused redness, rash and blotchy skin, Boscia’s founder, Kenji Ikemori, began working with a chemist in the late 70s to develop preservative-free products. Packaged in small ampoules with a two-week supply, the first products were sold in Ikemori’s one-man shop. With demand for his preservative-free formulas growing quickly, Ikemori launched the Francl Corporation in 1981.
