Brushes are simply the best tools for applying any cosmetic, whether a wet or dry product, including makeup around the eyes. When you use a well-made cosmetics brush, your eye shadows, liners and brow makeup go on smoother, plus you can blend colors more effectively and define more accurately. There are a number of factors to consider when choosing a brush. First, be sure the size of the brush corresponds to the area where you want to apply makeup.
Additional Brush Information
When working with powdered eye shadow, use a soft or contoured brush, or a combination of both, for applying and blending your eye color. These brush types work well when applying shadow to the upper and lower lid, as well as for contouring and defining the eye’s natural crease.
Choose a smaller, thinner, stiffer brush to smooth, separate and define your lashes and brows. To apply eye liner, you’ll need a finely pointed brush for optimal precision. Some brushes are available double-sided, with brushes of differing size and style on either end of the brush handle. You’ll also find bristles available in both natural and synthetic form.
