1). How did you get started in this industry?
I feel like I was born in the industry. My father Dr. Gary Goldfaden, creator of Goldfaden MD, is a Dermatologist so I grew up surrounded by the medical community and products. My father was always mixing up a new concoction in the sink and using us as guinea pigs! My background is in Museum Education and while finishing up my Master's degree my brother, Rob, CEO and co-founder of Goldfaden Skincare, convinced me to join in his venture to turn a few in-office products into a retail brand.
Goldfaden MD, which launched October 1, 2013, is a rebrand of Goldfaden Skincare. As a team we went back and focused on why women visit Dr. Goldfaden's practice. We also updated our packaging and brand messaging. Hence, Goldfaden MD was born. Goldfaden MD delivers naturally- inspired, physician-strength skincare solutions. Building a brand from the ground up has been educational and fun but most of all I'm thankful that I get to work with my family everyday!
2). What is your star product or biggest breakthrough?
While every product in the Goldfaden MD assortment was crafted to be it's own star, I'd have to pick Doctors Scrub. By far our best seller, Doctors Scrub is our coveted ruby crystal infused exfoliant that delivers immediate cell renewal. We use hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin and fill lines, seaweed to nourish and tighten the skin's surface, apricot kernel and jojoba oil to hydrate and soften. I think the reason people love this scrub is because the glow your skin emits after usage. People just look glowy and hydrated!
My father has always pushed exfoliation as the most important step in a regimen. Many people do not exfoliate so when they try our Doctors Scrub they immediately get hooked! In the beginning an earlier version of this product was only available in my father's office. My brother and I of course always used it and when he was in college all of his fraternity brothers would steal the scrub and use it! They loved it! We knew that if 18-22 year old frat boys were hooked on it, we had a winner!
3). Who/What inspires you?
Most recently, I am inspired by individualism. People that choose to be themselves in the face of adversity. People who stand up for injustice or inequality. And kindness always inspires me.
4). Be honest, what beauty products do you use regularly other than you own?
Right now I am using
Caudalie Divine Oil on my body and hair. I love the scent and it keeps me hydrated during the winter. I am also obsessed with Ellis Faas foundation.
5). Imagine the future of the beauty industry and give us your prediction of what's to come.
There seems to be a movement towards natural products that produce results. I think you will continue to see this trend. The consumer is becoming more and more savvy and wants to see results while staying away from harmful ingredients. Nails seems to be a huge trend right now. Whether its gels, sparkles or stick ons, nails are definitely popular.
6). Give our customers a beauty insider tip:
Next time you wax or shave (men too), try our Radical Difference serum. Organic red tea and cherry extract will help soothe away redness and irritation! Great for sunburn and windburn too.

Vital Boost is our solution to the problem of uneven skin tone. This daily moisturizer contains Vitamin D for immunity purposes and Indian Gooseberry for brightening. I love Vital Boost because it evens out skin tone and brightens at the same time. Vital Boost is hydrating but still safe for anyone who wants an oil free moisturizer. Serves as an amazing primer before makeup. I apply this all over my face and neck for a dewy, flawless finish!
