NUXE was founded in 1957 by a Parisian pharmacist with a passion for phytotherapy and aromatherapy. Both sciences involve using plants and the essential oils from plants to improve health and mood. Aliza Jabes took over the business in 1989 with the belief that nature offers the best solutions for healthy skin.
NUXE introduced its first hero product in 1992, Huile Prodigieuse, a multi-purpose dry oil that is sprayed on to hydrate and nourish the skin. The oil was an instant success, gaining the attention and respect of beauty editors as well as many women who benefited from using the product daily. Several other popular products followed in the tradition of utilizing plant extracts to improve the health and appearance of the skin. NUXE began to develop a unique niche in the marketplace, combining nature and luxury to offer products that are effective yet highly pleasing to the senses.
While NUXE relies on natural sources for its active ingredients, all products are rigorously tested for safety and effectiveness under the supervision of dermatologists.
