I used this product 1 month before my wedding and it lightended my brown spots up noticeably. I have always had a problem especially around the mouth, the cheek area near the hairline and down my neck. My hairdresser said my skin was looking very clean and the texuture and color were more uniform. I was very careful to wear SPF during the day and to try not to by in the sun without protection. otherwise I knew I would just be chasing my tail. It worked wonders.

I've never been compelled to write a review of any product, but OMG, this is the best thing ever. I bought this with a other PCA products (pigment bar, blemish bar, bpo 5% cleanser, smoothing toner, gentle exfoliate, and SPF 25 hydrator moisturizer). Honestly, within 3 days, I noticed a change in my skin and within a week and a half, almost all of my dark spots from acne had faded ( I am African- American, so the spots are very noticeable).
've been telling all my friends and family that have problem skin about PCA.
I will admit, it did "sting" my skin at first, but after the first few days, I was fine. I did have peeling of the skin (which was pretty mild) and redness. PCA products are amazing!!!!!

I love serums but not sure about this one. I have SPOTS and need to get rid of them. I hoped this product would work. Didn't do anything for the spots but I'll use it till it's gone anyway. Stings a little when applied so that makes you think it's doing something. I won't buy again. Good luck to you!
good retinol product at a reasonable price

I like this retinol product; it's stronger than many on the market without being irritating to my skin. The lotion-y serum is a striking orange color which is a bit startling, but the color doesn't show on my (fair) skin once applied. My skin is combination and even though this product contains hydrators I find that I need to apply an additional moisturizer afterwards to avoid that "tight" feeling. It does product a "warm" feeling for a few minutes after application, but not at all a burning sensation. I haven't gone through the whole bottle yet, but so far so good. I didn't give 5 stars because it's not an all-natural product.

I have had acne for years and one of my main problems is that I tend to pigment very easily, even from the smalest breakout. My facialist suggested I start using PCA Pigment Gel and I found that this product not only works well to fight existing hyper-pigmentation, but also helps to quickly calm existing acne (and therefore lessening the buildup of new pigment).
Though it's a fairly expensive product, I use a very thin layer over most of my face twice a day (as its a fairly strong product, I find this is all I need) and I have only gone through about a 1/3 of the bottle in a month. And most of all, it definitely works as a great spot treatment and pigment fighter.
My face has cleared substantially since I have started using this product and I have definitely tried my fair share of gels and tonics that have promised to peel, fade, and shrink acne and acne pigment.
Well worth the money!
This might be good but ....

When I first opened the bottle and attempted to squirt a bit in my hand to apply, the product shot half accross the room. Next time after very gently pressing the pump the product again shot around the room, on my clothes, the carpet and wall.
Not to be outdone, the next attempt was to opent he bottle and apply a little to my finger, well when I opened the bottle the product started to boil out of the bottle like it had built up a lot of pressure, more than half went down the drain that time.
Needless to say, I'm very dissapointed in this products dispensing method and I'm not sure if the product was old, gone bad or what. I did get to use it one time as it poured from the bottle however and it was so sticky that i had to wash it off. Don't bother with this one girls unless you want an "OLD Faithful" on your shelf

I've been trying to get rid of this horrendous brown spot (result from picking a huge pimple) by my temple for yrs. I spent $ on laser therapy. It faded little bit, but it came back wi/ revenge. The day when my friend goes, 'what 's that? Looks like a tattoo.' Omg! The spot got 2 go!!!
After reading reviews, I chose PCA pigment gel. I used it day/night religiously by dabbing a layer only on the spot. (afterward C-Quench and protecting hydrator)
It definitely stung. It darkened and turned my spot into a dried up scab. It reminded me of the laser treatment I had. The spot definitely looks faded after the scab peeled. So far I am so happy with the result that I'll continue with its treatment and try out other PCA skin care. This save me $ from laser treatment for sure~ : )

I have tried many products in the past and this one is really great. I have had friends comment on the difference in my hyperpigmentation and they did not know I was using something different.
Works well to lighten age spots
-8/20/2009 8:23:47 AM
I've been using pHhaze 13 pigment gel every other night for 2 months to lighten a couple of prominent age spots on my face and I'm seeing great results, although I need to continue use of it to see if the spots disappear completely.
Before I purchased it, I read the reviews and many people complained about how drying it was and in some cases it made spots darker. I am no doctor, but I have a few thoughts on this after using the product. It does tend to be drying, so I only apply it in a THIN layer every other night (to give my skin a break) and I use a very moisturizing night cream on top after it has 5 min to absorb into my skin. It is a thin gel consistency and it absorbs quickly. It does have a strong odor, but this doesn't bother me too much because it disappears after I put moisturizer on top. If my skin seems to be especially dry I will take several days off from the treatment for it to "recover". As a result, I have seen very little drying and irritation. My biggest advice is that you have to be patient. Overzealous use is just going to cause problems and make you more frustrated.
After about 1-2 weeks of use I did notice that the spots seemed to get slightly darker and I got a little upset. But I read on the PCAskin website that this can happen when the discoloration that is closer to the surface appears darker than the pigment in the lower layers of skin. If discoloration gets darker first (and you have been using sunscreen diligently during the day), it means that the discoloration is rising to the surface to be exfoliated. So they advise to still continue use of the gel (which I did), and about 1-2 weeks after that I did start to see noticeable lightening. Its key to wear sunscreen so your discoloration doesn't come back- very important! My only complaint about this product right now is that these details could have been addressed better on the product packaging.
