If you don’t like what’s out there, make something better. That’s the philosophy of Somme Institute. The founders were disappointed that most of the skin care products they tested didn’t deliver on their promises - so they assembled a team of researchers, dermatologists and skin care specialists to “crack the code” and find out what ingredients really would deliver smoother, clearer and more youthful skin. After more than seven years of testing on real people, this team of masterminds developed technology called MDT5 that speeds delivery of skin-nourishing vitamins and protein into the deeper layers of the skin – and Somme Institute was born. Since skin-reparative vitamins and other ingredients can’t work their magic unless they can penetrate, Somme Institute’s products really do “deliver.”

Somme Institute Customer ReviewsAt least I only paid for the travel size. - 7/1/2014 10:25:42 PM Recently, after undergoing a minor cosmetic procedure, I was instructed to use only a gentle cleanser for ten days. As that meant my beloved Jan Marini bioglycolic was off the table (or vanity, I suppose) I decided to pull out the travel size of this that I had set aside for emergency situations. I have a fairly standard set of steps that I follow when cleansing. Basically, apply the cleanser to dry skin, add a little water, "lather," let sit a few minutes whilst getting the shower started, then add a little more water, massage around (adding a little more product of deemed necessary), and rinse well. After all that, a process that SHOULD leave my face clean (even if not squeaking), I stepped out, looked in the mirror, and was dismayed to see makeup still on my face. I'm not talking impossible-to-remove waterproof mascara. I mean face makeup...the ONE THING a face cleanser should remove. So. I did it all again in the sink this time, right in front if the mirror, determined to wash it all away. No luck. Not only that, but I felt a yucky, rubbery residue left behind. Luckily for me, I ADORE the rest of the Somme line and broke out my Transport Pads to take care of what the cleanser couldn't. Too bad it took two whole pads before the makeup was finally demolished. To sum it up, seeing as it's marketed as a cleanser but doesn't actually CLEAN, I can't review this highly or recommend. Two stars, however, as at least it doesn't smell like a cat box and didn't turn me into a toad. I suppose it could always be worse.I love this entire line - 2/7/2014 6:16:34 AM Somme Institute products have my skin looking the best. When I first used this line I wasn't as happy with it because the serum and A-Bomb left my skin feeling sticky. No more. The key is to use them sparingly. I love the cleanser. It's very gentle and smells incredible.Harsh - 9/18/2013 2:44:27 PM I have this extremely sensitive skin so it's too harsh to me. It literally burns on my skin. But it does clean. So that's the tradeoff you might wanna think about.Texture & Smell are great! - 6/4/2013 2:25:28 PM I'm still young so turkey neck is not a problem for me. I just know that the neck is often neglected in skincare regimes. And seeing as how I'm a "preventer", rather than a "fixer", I use the neck cream. And I must say that I do enjoy seeing it in the mirror! It smells wonderful, and the texture is on the thicker side, which I like. Additionally, the MDT5 technology is probably working to remove my sun damage from underneath the skin, which I can't see anyway, but it's good to know that it's diminishing.Removes all your junk. - 6/3/2013 10:02:33 AM Seriously. It does. I love using these at night when I truly get to see how much dirt they took off my face. The pads are soaked in glycolic acid so you know it works to exfoliate your skin. It really works like a makeup remover too, just as long as you don't get it in you eye. Because ouch. Unfortunately I did break out when I started using it because all my clogged pores basically declogged themselves and all the nastiness came to the surface. The breakouts lasted a while, but it was worth it in the long run.I'm foundation free!!! - 6/3/2013 9:57:54 AM Very happy to say that I don't need to wear foundation anymore. I had a lot of acne scars/marks from before and I still do. But it significantly reduced their appearance. I had a huge red spot on my nose for years and it lightened it a whole lot. I don't hate looking at my nose anymore!not for sensitive skin! - 4/7/2013 9:30:53 AM I liked the idea of exfoliating without abrasion, these however were much too strong for me. I had a lot of itching and stinging which i expected from the glycolic in them. I used them twice a week, otherwise it was just too much for me. Gifted them to my mother in law, she doesn't have sensitive skin.Worth it! - 2/3/2013 6:01:02 PM Great product. I have sensitive skin and my skin is so much better after starting the Somme line. I love it!FANTASTIC-ELASTIC Skin Again! - 6/25/2012 7:11:46 AM This clear liquid absolutely gives my skin a smoother appearance when used with their other products. everyone keeps commenting on how good I look - The Somme product line is the ONLY new thing I'm doing for myself and I'm thrilled with the results!- 3/29/2012 12:59:38 AM I used the serum in conjunction with the A bomb once a day. There was instant improvement in skin clarity upon applying the products but it doesn't seem to last till the end of the day. I didn't get any breakouts till the 3rd to 4th week and that lasted for 2 weeks. After 5 weeks, I switched to Skin ceuticals as I stopped seeing any improvements and my pimples had not subsided. Purely as a moisturizer, it works well. With the remaining cream, I still use it at night b4 bedtime to prevent my skin from drying as I sometimes sleep in an aircon room. As the cream seems alittle rich, less is more if you don't want to look shiny or want to extend the longevity of your cream. However, it is very expensive to purchase the A Bomb and i'm not sure if I'll get it again.
Learn More About Somme Institute
When creating the Somme Institute collection, the research team knew that better technologies were needed to determine just how the skin was affected by environmental damage. State-of-the-art ultraviolet photography was used to view every layer of skin, studying where damage was most noticeable and how it manifested itself. After examining countless photographs, the team determined that the majority of the damage to the skin that was responsible for the appearance of signs of aging was in the middle layer of tissue. The problem was that ordinary skin care products only delivered ingredients to the top level of skin, leaving the rest of the tissue unaffected. This greatly limited how well the products could actually address environmental damage.
With the development of Molecular Dispersion Technology 5 or MDT5, Somme Institute has created a line of skin care products that can actually live up to their promises because they are capable of reaching the tissue that needs nourishment the most. The complex is a combination of vitamins A, B3, B5, C and E attached to a protein engineered to target the receptors in skin cells in the middle layer of tissue. This allows for enhanced absorption and treats the skin to nutrients that help it resist environmental damage while gradually rejuvenating damaged cells.
The Somme Institute skincare collection includes solutions for a variety of concerns. Whether your biggest worry is signs of aging, frequent acne breakouts or skin discoloration, there are formulas in the range to help you beautify your complexion.
