The Jurlique History
It began with a dream. The pioneering company was founded in 1985 by Dr. Jurgen Klein and his wife, Ulrike – scientists in chemistry, herbology,
homeopathy and alchemy. They sought the purest place on Earth and discovered an ideally suited, unpolluted environment in South Australia where they would farm their own herbs and flowers for Jurlique skin care.

Jurlique's Biodynamic* Farm
Biodynamic* farming is considered an advanced method of organic farming, combining biological practices, such as organic methods of soil enrichment and regeneration, with dynamic practices intended to attune the farm with the rhythms of nature and the cycles of the land. Today, Jurlique operates over 153 acres in South Australia where more than 35 different varieties of plants and flowers are grown – including lavender, rose, marshmallow, licorice and calendula; ingredients that provide the biodynamic blends within Jurlique products.
The Bio-Intrinsic™ Process
The company ensures that the living energy in its biodynamically* tended herbs is made available to the skin in its products through a unique and artisanal approach called the Bio-Intrinsic™ Process. This method captures the highest level of “living energy” present in herbs and plants. This painstaking and manual proprietary process enables Jurlique to unite herbs in highly potent blends that contribute specific energy to correct sources of skin problems and enhance the healthy look of the skin.
* Jurlique products include select herbs and flowers tended and harvested by hand on their organic and NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia) certified Biodynamic* farm in South Australia.
