After seeing this dryer win awards, I finally shelled out for it, and I've had it for 3 months.
Positives:
It's really, really, really lightweight, which is awesome for me (I have bad arthritis). The air doesn't blow as hard or get nearly as hot as any of my previous dryers, including some professional salon models I've had. Despite that, it seems to dry my hair at least as fast as any other dryer I've ever used, which indicates it's less damaging (and the improving condition of my hair supports that theory). It may reduce drying time slightly, but not by much. By the way, I have fine, thick, slightly wavy hair. [Side lesson - hair is defined as fine vs. coarse (circumfrence & texture of each hair strand), thick vs. thin (total number of hairs on your head), and straight, wavy, or curly.]
My only complaints:
It doesn't reduce drying time as much as the advertisements claim. Also, the cool shot button makes the air cool-ish, but not cold, like some of my previous hair dryers did.
Overall, I think it was worth the price for me, but I wouldn't recommend it to people with coarse, thick hair who are looking to reduce drying time. It's great for fine hair, and I'd probably recommend it most to people with fragile, damaged hair. For them, it will be worth the price.
