Founder Gigi Howard was hiding behind oversized scarves and turtlenecks to conceal the deepening chest wrinkles she developed in her late 20s. Feeling self-conscious of looking older than she was, Gigi tried every treatment on the market. She couldn’t find an effective, non-invasive solution, so she set out to create her own. At an impromptu lunch, a friend told Gigi about the silicone adhesive sheets her doctor prescribed after a minor surgery to help heal the skin and flatten her post-surgical scars. Gigi soon discovered, by placing the same silicone over a wrinkle, it optimizes skin hydration, while firming and smoothing its appearance.
This was the “aha” moment that led to SiO Beauty in 2016. Gigi spent more than 3 years developing 180 prototypes before coming up with the perfect patch. The occlusive layer of the SiO patch is the perfect environment for skin that needs a boost – ideal for those looking for an easy solution to hydration and smooth skin without acids, injectables, or worry of potentially harmful ingredients! SiO treats all wrinkles the same, smoothing wrinkle-prone zones that are often neglected. With many women and men concerned about the signs of aging, SiO wanted to provide an almost immediate solution to stubborn lines from (just about) head to toe.
1 medical grade steel tool with lifetime magnetic charge and pouch for storage
The Cryodrop is cold on its own, but it can be stored in the refrigerator or can be cooled for up to 5 minutes before use. Medical grade steel removes from the skin, so it conducts heat quickly.
When using the Cryodrop, there are three different techniques for effective facial massage. By performing these maneuvers, there are benefits such as muscle relaxation for fine lines and wrinkles, lymphatic drainage for puffiness and toxin removal, and blood circulation for improved appearance. See below for tutorial:
MANEUVER 1 - Skin Smoothing Strokes for Circulation
1. Start on the forehead with the tool flat on the skin (textured surface down). Move from the eyebrows up toward the hairline in long smooth strokes. Work across the forehead in four vertical lines and complete rotation 3 times total, finish by working horizontally on the forehead from the center toward the temples.
2. Around the eye area, work right above the cheek bones in long strokes outward toward the ear. For the top of the eye, start at the center of the eyebrows sliding the tool toward the outside edge of the face, tracing the eyebrows. Repeat 5-10 times both above and below eye. You can also turn the tool on its side to use for a deeper massage.
3. Around the cheek area, make long strokes from the nose toward the ear area using the textured, flat side of the tool, or turn it on its side to get a deeper massage. Repeat 5-10 times.
4. When working the jaw area, you will want to make long strokes from the chin to the neck. Repeat 5-10 times.
5. Once at the top of the neck, work the front of the tool (textured side on the skin or turn the tool on the side) down toward the clavicle in long strokes. Repeat 5-10 times.
6. For neck lifting, work upward in long strokes into the chin area. Repeat if you would like for extra drainage. Work down the side of the neck.
7. Above the clavicle, work the tapered end of the tool (or whatever side feels most comfortable) from the midline outward tracing the bone. Below the clavicle, massage working downward in strokes starting at the midline toward the floor. Repeat both 5-10 times.
MANEUVER 2: Deep Retaining Pressure to Reduce Skin Sagging
1. Press the skin at the starred areas (see right) with the pointed part of the tool (tapered end) and progressively increase the pressure until you feel a deep sensation.
2. Deeply press into each point and apply pressure until you feel the sensation in each area. Do not pass your pain threshold.
MANEUVER 3 - Fascia Stimulation for Skin Elasticity
1. Finish the massage movements with Fascia Stimulation to relax the facial muscles. There are 4 areas down the side of the face (work both sides). Starting at the scalp (where the hairline meets the forehead above each eyebrow), you will stroke up the forehead and into the hairline.
2. The next fascia point is the jaw connection right near the ear. By keeping compression and directional pulling of the superficial fascia it will awaken deeper layers of fascia and the tissue that it connects to.
3. The next point is the back of the jaw at the top of the neck. Work tool (textured side down) into this area in compressed strokes.
4. Lastly, for the neck area, you are actually working upward. It looks like a scraping method but again providing the same sustained pressure. Starting from the base of the neck at the side (above shoulder) working upward.
Tips:
Clean your Cryodrop by rinsing under warm water. If desired, use antibacterial soap or wipe down with rubbing alcohol. Keep at room temperature.
