A regular part of my hair care - 1/6/2012 5:01:21 AM For years, I've used Alterna Hemp in the tube after shampooing with Philip B's Scent of Santa Fe and then using a quarter sized amount of his Love In Leave in Conditioner. Then I apply a nickel size amount of the Hemp texturizing glaze to soften the frizzies and enhance my naturally curly, wavy hair. My approach is to minimize rinsing too much hair color out with each wash, therefore lengthening time between hair color treatments (trying to save money.) I let my hair air dry the first day after working the products through, then the next day apply a pump of Redkens Smooth Down before straightening with my flat iron. My hair is not weighed down by these products, nor does it become oily after 2 or 3 days.

- 1/4/2012 3:08:21 PM I have very straight hair. My stylist adds a lot of texture in the cut. I use a cheap product that I get at CVS which has tremendous hold (Got2b Glued Styling Spiking Glue) and then add the Alterna Hemp to soften my hair and to add a lot of texture. Be careful not to use too much though because it can be greasy and weigh your hair down. A very small amount does the job well and it lasts all day. Bonus is that the product smells great and that's coming from more than a few of the ladies.

Fantastic product!!! - 12/11/2011 10:11:45 AM This is the best product ever made for curly and frizzy hair!! The trick is to put it in your hair AFTER it is towel dried and not put it in really wet hair. Results won't be as good in really wet hair unless you are looking for a lighter look. But if used in abundant amounts this product adds the necessary weight to keep fly aways down, coats hair so it is smooth, adds sheen. Comb it through and finger curl or air dry. I take clumps of hair and hold them tight while I blowdry and then just drop gently and it forms a nice smooth curl. You can also restyle your hair after work by rubbing a little water in your hands and grabbing a curl and redefining it gently or add a bit more of the balm and you are good to go!! I have tried hundreds of products. This is the only one that works! Now my husband tried it and he has straight hair and he loves it!! No sticky mess, it is always slick and smooth feeling, lots of shine, not cardboard and flaky. Be careful to always use quality shampoo and conditioner beforehand. We love it!!!

Perfect Summer Hair - 7/27/2011 9:28:31 AM I love the smell of this product. I cannot find it anywhere else but it's like having summer in a bottle. It makes you feel great and everyone will notice you once you walk into a room and wisp pass somebody. It's subtle but very pleasant smell. As for keeping in moisture, it does the job but it's not the best I've tried. I buy it more for the spray and the hair moisture is just an added plus.

- 5/15/2011 4:33:42 AM I have not used a hair putty in many years and decided to try this brand since I love Alterna Conditioners. I like the idea that it is a natural product. It feels sticky in the palm of your hand but is very nice and smooth when applied on the hair; shiney too. I am still experimenting with hold.

Great Product - 3/8/2011 4:04:23 PM This product was given to me as a sample and I have been hooked on it since. I used to use molding mud, but this is so much better. Alterna makes great products!

Questionable - 7/6/2010 3:12:16 PM This product gave a beautiful shine on the day that I used it, but my hair was dull and limp on the 2nd day. It's a good product for a special date, but not for overall usage.

Great "pick me up" shampoo - 4/4/2010 5:26:13 AM When my hair feels dry and I need a little "pick me up", I use this shampoo a couple times and my hair feels re-charged.

Description is correct - 4/4/2010 5:03:48 AM I was a little concerned this gel would be too stiff. However, it wasn't at all. I have above the shoulder length curly hair that I blow out and this product gives me enough hold to keep my blow out with body and bounce. It was just what I needed after my last hair cut because I wasn't satisfied with my shorter/layered style until I used this gel. Alterna gives you so many choices.
