The biotin in Appearex stimulates epidermal cells and affects the protein structure called keratin found in skin, nails, and hair. Biotin is directly involved in the production of keratin cells and is believed to increase the quantity of keratin-matrix proteins in the nail.
Clinical studies have demonstrated that daily use of 2.5 mg of biotin, the active ingredient in Appearex, can strengthen and improve the quality of brittle nails. In one study, 91% of individuals with brittle nails experienced improvement in nail quality after 5 months of taking 2.5 mg of biotin daily.
In fact, the biotin in Appearex is the only agent proven to have a pharmaceutical effect on nail quality. Other agents lack the established clinical evidence required to support their effectiveness.
