Kelo-cote® is an innovative topical silicone gel for the management of scars and for the prevention of abnormal scars in the form of hypertrophic scars and keloids. It is indicated for scars resulting from trauma, surgery, burns or other events that result in broken skin.

Kelo-cote® gel self-dries to a waterproof, gas permeable membrane that acts like an extra layer of skin. It helps to soften, flatten and smooth the scar while maintaining the moisture balance and elasticity of the adjacent skin. It has also been shown to reduce the discoloration and itching associated with scars.

For the management and prevention of scars, Kelo-cote® can be used as soon as the break in the skin is closed (i.e. after stitches are removed).

Size of scar suitable for treatment with one 15g tube: 4.75–6.75 inch / 12–17 cm (Length of scar, based on a linear scar with a coverage width of 0.5 inch / 1.25 cm)

overall good - 6/26/2012 12:36:08 PM I've been using this product for a couple of weeks now and it has made my keloid scars a lot softer they're still same in size but hopefully with continued use they will start to shrink and flatten. The downside to this is that it's sticky regardless of how little the amount is that you put on.

Best Scar Treatment I've ever used! - 7/9/2011 6:36:04 AM I have tried other scar treatments over the years. Kelo-cote and Vitamin E are the only treatments that have ever worked for me. I love this stuff! Highly recommend!

Seems to be working - 3/30/2011 11:47:03 AM I've been using it 1-2 times a day every day for 3 weeks now on old surgical scars. It seems like it's working, they appear lighter, but don't expect immediate results.

Ensure that the affected area is clean and dry. Apply Kelo-cote to the area as a very thin coat and allow to dry. Should be applied once daily, or twice daily in areas exposed to abrasion. Once dry, Kelo-cote can be covered with cosmetics or sun block. Recommended duration of treatment 60-90 days.
