Oral health is very important and plays a key role in the future of our health. There are many relations between the mouth and our body, as well as our mental health. Here are some key tips and information to help keep your smile bright and your body healthy!   The research isn’t conclusive but may studies have shown that if you skip out on tooth and gum maintenance, your body can be affected in numerous ways. When cleaning the mouth, make sure to use floss daily, brush teeth at least twice a day and remember to use mouth rinse. If you forget about your gums, bacteria can form causing gum complications and even gum disease. Gum disease can be related to heart disease and other conditions if left untreated. The bacteria in your mouth can travel through your bloodstream causing an inflammatory reaction in your body. If you are stressed, anxious, or depressed, you may be at higher risk for oral health problems. Don’t forget that stress related activities include smoking, chewing, drinking and teeth grinding. Maintain a healthy diet and keep a positive attitude throughout each day. Gum disease has also been linked to complication issues concerning pregnancy and memory. Bacteria can lead to the deterioration of your tooth enamel and can cause yellowing of the teeth. No one wants to look like they have a fake set of Halloween teeth in, so make sure to reach out for cosmetic enhancement products when needed.   There are many different aids to help with tooth whitening such as toothpastes, rinses, and whitening systems, that are offered over the counter. Make sure you limit your intake on coffee, tea and soda, as they can stain your teeth as well. If you do drink any dark colored beverages, it is suggested that you use a straw to limit contact with your teeth. Two highly recognized over the counter brand leaders include GoSmile and SuperSmile, which offer many different products. You can even find floss that offers whitening benefits which should create extra motivation to make sure you floss everyday. My dentist always told me when I was little, “you don’t have to floss all your teeth, only the ones you want to keep!” Imagine hearing that over again….what a memory flag! When brushing, make sure to go over the roof of your mouth and also your tongue. The tongue is a place for bacteria to form and cling to, so it is important that you do not skip brushing your tongue. If bacteria settle on the tongue it can lead to conditions such as bad breath. We all know that bad breath is not something you want others remembering you by and gum or mints offer only temporary help! Upkeep on your teeth boosts your self esteem and confidence which means you are more likely to flash that gorgeous smile and strut your stuff with poise. So please don’t neglect your mouth and radiate your overall health!   Find oral health products at SkinStore.
