For most men, shaving is a daily routine that is done by rote, without much concern for the details: shaving cream, shave, rinse… next. And they often pay for it with red, sore skin and sometimes even inflamed hair follicles. L’Occitane Men Products can change all that, without complicating matters.
The secret is in the juniper wood extract, used by generations of farmers and fishermen in the Provence region of southern France. This extract is derived from the prickly juniper, also called the cade juniper (Juniperus oxycadrus), which is named “genévrier cade” in French. This extract in L’Occitane Men Products acts as an astringent (meaning that it helps tighten and firm the skin tissues), anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, all of which are very beneficial when scraping a naked blade across the skin. Although juniper extract also has a wonderful scent, L’Occitane Men Products includes this ingredient to protect and soothe the skin during and after shaving. It is possible to shave and still have healthy, soft skin, and all without fuss. Even those tough old Provence farmers and fishermen would agree that’s a good deal.

Additional L'Occitane Products Information
Ever wonder why men often skip shaving during vacation? For many, it’s because shaving is not a fun task, particularly when the aftermath is a sore and reddened skin. Along with juniper (cade) wood extract, L’Occitane Men Products provide a suite of ingredients that makes shaving pleasant.
Forget the cans of commercial shaving “cream” that actually dispense foam. L’Occitane Cade Shaving Cream comes in the traditional form. Squeeze a dollop out of the tube and spread it across a wet face, creating a natural lather with fingertips or right on the skin with a shaving brush. Along with juniper wood oil, to firm the skin and soothe razor burn, the formula contains anti-inflammatory and soothing sandalwood oil and curry plant (Helichrysum italicum) extract. Shea butter provides an effective emollient, helping to keep the skin hydrated, soft and smooth.
After shaving and rinsing off any remaining cream, finish with L’Occitane Cade After Shave Balm. In addition to the soothing, anti-inflammatory benefits of juniper wood oil, the antibacterial effects of white birch (Betula alba) bark extract and oak Quercus robur) root extract help prevent infection. Both shea butter and coconut oil moisturize and renew the skin. Caprylic/capric triglyceride (derived from coconut) and rosemary leaf oil promote skin cell turnover, keeping the surface fresh and healthy. The balm can also be applied to the face at night, to allow the formula to soften and prepare the skin and beard for the next morning.
The shaving cream and balm are also available together in the L’Occitane Cade Shave Set.
