Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt version of Hyaluronic Acid, a substance found in our bodies which acts as a tissue lubricant. About 50% of the Hyaluronic Acid in the body is contained in the dermis to support and hydrate the skin. Hyaluronic Acid molecules can actually hold 1000 times their weight in water. As we age, the amount of Hyaluronic Acid in our system depletes, leading to dehydration, surface roughness, flaking and fine lines.
