Rice has been used for centuries as part of traditional beauty and skin care regiments in many places around the world. Recently during our Juara training, co-founder Metta was training us on the Juara Rice Facial Cleanser and she gave us a beauty tip that has been part of her culture for as long as she can remember. Briefly, she said when you rinse rice at home, take the water from the rinsed rice and use it to rinse your face and you will find that your skin is softer and smoother. In learning about this ancient beauty tradition I found that for centuries rice has been used to ease many skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and dryness. Rice has also been used as a skin care mask when ground up finely with milk or water to create a paste that is then applied to the skin for 15-20 minutes then rinsed. Since rice contains allantoin, it also acts as an anti-inflammatory and is used for skin irritation and redness which makes perfect sense when considering the many uses in skin care products. Learn more about rice in our key ingredient feature, and find out which products we carry by visiting our Rice section! One of our favorites is Juara Rice Facial Cleanser.
