Jan Marini Skin Research Benzoyl Peroxide 5% strength is the medication of choice for treating acne. Benzoyl Peroxide is recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology to significantly reduce the presence of P acne bacteria (the bacteria believed to play a primary role in the inflammatory aspect of the acne process). Many physicians and researchers believe that Benzoyl Peroxide, used in conjunction with Glycolic Acid, is a potent tool to achieve dramatic clearing of acne lesions and prevent changes within the follicle associated with the acne process. This highly micronized formula has a soft emollient consistency.

    Benefits:

    • For acne or acne prone skin.
    • Medically proven to dramatically assist in clearing acne lesions.
    • Effective in minimizing open blackheads.
    • Aids in preventing the formation of new lesions.
    • Highly micronized formula has a soft emollient consistency.
    • Special non-comedogenic moisturizers minimize dryness and irritation.

    Directions:

Begin by applying once daily only, preferably in the evening to affected areas, not just individual lesion. Apply BPO after the application of all other products. Keep away from eye area. Unless acne is severe, it is generally recommended to begin with the 5% strength in the evening and increase usage to morning as well, if necessary. As skin acclimates, strength may be increased to BPO 10%. Benefits are further enhanced when used in conjunction with Bioglycolic products.

    Please Note:

During the first 1 to 2 weeks of usage, it is not unusual to experience dryness, flaking and increased irritation. Generally, this period of acclimation is brief and can be reasonably managed by limiting frequency of exposure.

    Ingredients:

Benzoyl Peroxide 5%, Deionized Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerine, Butylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Great!!

This is such an amazing product. My blackheads never ever went away with any other products that I have tried thousands. But this one works. It's not pricy either. Your skin can be a bit too dry but works great.

Excellent!

This is a great product - isn't too drying and actually works! I use inconjunction w/Bioglycolic Cleansing Gel for Oily Skin, C-Esta Oil Control, A Factor +, & Bioclear Cream. I'm absolutely loving this line for my 40+ year old skin!

Highly recommend

This is the only product I have used for blackheads that works! I noticed a difference in 3 days. Worth every cent. This will be the last product I will buy for my pore problem.

very effective

Every time I washed my face, I could feel tiny blackheads on my chin and around my lower lip. After using 5% benzoyl peroxide for only five nights, the blackheads began to disappear. Now they're completely gone. I use the lotion a couple of times a week now to prevent more breakouts. My skin is now perfectly clear. 5% is good because it's not too drying.
