Lavanila The Healthy Sunscreen SPF 40 Face Cream

I used this wishing days of recieving it and it was separates in the tube like I've never seen. On the first squeeze I got a small blob of lotion and a huge fountain of liquid gushed out! I closed the tube and shook it and mushed it around to try to combine it and that's when I saw it was only about HALFWAY FULL! Theres no way THAT much liquid came out.. I don't know if it's all tubes or just mine but it was really under packed. I hope i just got an old defective tube because when I used the combined lotion I loved it so much. I want this product to work for me. But I might switch to another source for it because skinstore has been sending me bad products....

Am a physical (meaning titanium/zinc oxide) sunscreen collector, trying to find the HG. Like this type of sunscreen because it works instantly and I am not going to sit around for 1/2 hour to have it activate. I Have to wear sunscreen every day since I've had melanoma removed twice, though we all should, right? Have used MD Solar Science, Clarins, Anthelios, Josie Maran (no longer made, boo!) this one, Replenix, Skinceuticals, Peter Thomas Roth and many more.I judge them based on (1) do they rub in or stay on the surface making my face whitish and ghostly. That's a real issue with physical sunscreens and this one doesn't pass the test.(2) is the consistency good for the face? No, it's a bit heavy...and worse, it separates in the tube, so watery stuff comes out first, then blobs. So you have to shake the tube.(3) is it greasy? Yeah, this one is a little, though there are worse.BTW, Winner by a long shot is an obscure brand I found on this site after reading for hours through all the options: Replenix, which appears to have lots of other good ingredients, a bonus, on top of being a light consistency that doesn't separate and rubs in quickly to disappear completely.

it doesn't absorb quite as quickly as a some other brands, but is very good, safer and less expensive than those I have bought in the past. I have recently abandoned others more expensive (but that work well) because of a "high health concern" rating according to the Environmental Working Group (an independent group/web site that rates the safety of sunscreens and other products). I enjoy LaVanila products and appreciate their less risky formulas.

Despite having several different oils in the ingredient list, the sunscreen absorbs very quickly into my skin and did not aggravate my acne. The fragrance is very, very light and natural. The sunscreen is very white, but rather quickly the color blends away on my medium-light olive skin tone. I'm not sure if it would leave a white haze on darker skin.

I LOVE this sunscreen! I wear sunscreen every day of the year, whether I'm staying indoors or not (I don't want any exposure, even incidental through a window). While the cream looks thick and white straight from the tube, it's easy to apply and I can very gently rub it in to create a smooth, moisturized look instead of the ghostly pale look created by other zinc oxide and/or titanium oxide products on the market. And best of all, these aren't nano-sized particicles that can be absorbed into your system and do potential harm (although exactly what they do in your internal system in unknown at this time). This is a true physical sunscreen that sits on top of your skin and stops the UVA and UVB rays from getting through, while the other products keep your skin happy and moisturized. My ultra sensitive skin is very, very happy and is protected from the sun, all day, every day--something that is critical for me as a soon-to-be liver/kidney transplant patient!
