Centella Asiatica, also known as Gotu Kola, is a small plant that is native to several countries in Asia and the northern part of Australia. In Sri Lanka, it is often eaten as an afternoon pick-me-up and is thought to help maintain good health and youthfulness.
In skincare, there have been several studies which indicate that Centella Asiatica aids in wound healing. This plant is also antibacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory. Several dermatologists believe that aging is caused by inflammation within the skin, making this anti-inflammatory ingredient a great addition to any anti-aging skin care regimen.
