As an esthetician we are constantly asking our clients if they are using an SPF. Proper sun protection is so important in skin care and it is the number 1 most important anti-aging product in your regimen. All too often I have women tell me that they have SPF in their makeup and therefore they believe that they do not need to apply a sunscreen. This is absolutely NOT true. While it is a great added bonus that your makeup contains SPF, it is not a substitution for applying a sunscreen. The truth is most people do not apply the layers of coverage they need from their makeup to get proper sun protection. Also, sunscreen needs to be applied every 2 hours when outdoors. Your face would be piled with makeup at the end of the day. An SPF 30 or higher should be part of your daily morning skin care regimen. You are welcome to apply your makeup over that for added benefit. Skinstore has a wide selection of sunscreens to offer for all skin types. One of our favorites is SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50.
