Foundation

Foundation is quite a personal step in your makeup regime. Whether you’re looking for the best foundation for oily skin , aging skin or simply want a full-coverage base, finding the perfect foundation for you depends entirely on your skin type and preference.

My go-to day-to-day foundation is the Laura Geller Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation (are you sensing a radiance theme here?)

The baked liquid foundation boasts a full-coverage formula which leaves me with a natural-looking, radiant finish which lasts all day long. Boasting an innovative blend of moisturizing ingredients, the foundation keeps your skin feeling smooth and hydrated all day long and stays streak-free and flawless.

I simply buff a few drops of the product into my skin using the Pixi Full Cover Foundation Brush starting from the center of my face. For those days when I need to add a little more coverage, I simply build it up in the areas where I need it the most using a damp BeautyBlender, which I honestly could not be without.

Concealer

If I’ve got any blemishes or dark circles thanks to too many late nights, I’ll turn to my concealer to save my complexion. I simply dab a little of the Stila Perfecting Concealer onto my problem areas and blend with my BeautyBlender.

The medium-full coverage concealer expertly camouflages blemishes, scars and any signs of a late night in an instant, leaving you with a flawless, perfected complexion.

Contouring

I must admit, I’m partial to a little bit of contouring in my makeup routine. My favorite product is the Illamasqua Contouring Gel Sculpt which helps me to enhance the natural contours of my face. I simply apply the product directly under my cheekbones and along my jawline before blending with my trusty BeautyBlender. The lightweight gel formula blends effortlessly into the skin to leave you looking chiselled and defined.

To set gel sculpt into place, I simply dust a little of theBalm’s Bahama Mama Bronzer under my cheekbones, along my jawline, down the sides of my nose and a little on my temples using the Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush to give me a natural, bronzed look.

Setting Powder

My next step is to dust a little bit of setting powder under my eyes and across my T-Zone. Some people like to set their entire complexion with setting powder, however, I like to keep that ‘lit from within’ glow, so I just concentrate on the essential areas of my face.

The Dermablend Compact Translucent Setting Powder is my weapon of choice. The high-performance setting powder leaves me with a sheer, matte finish that provides me with up to 16 hours of wear – perfect for those long days on the go!

Blush & Highlight

It’s time to put a little bit of color back into my face. I’ll usually reach for my By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Blusher in Bohemian Flirt and apply a little onto the apples of my cheeks. The highly pigmented formula blends seamlessly into my skin, leaving me with a natural-looking color.

Highlighter is my favorite part of my makeup routine, but it’s so easy to go overboard! My favorite day-to-day highlighter is the Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter from theBalm, which I dust onto the high points of my face, including; cheekbones, brow bones, down the center of my nose and cupid’s bow.

Eyebrows

Eyebrows truly frame the face and can make or break your entire makeup look!

My favorite eyebrow pencil is The BrowGal’s Skinny Eyebrow Pencil in Espresso. The dual-ended tool is perfect for creating flawless eyebrows. I start by brushing my eyebrows upwards with the built-in brush and then simply use the pencil to fill in my brows using light, hair-like strokes.

To ensure my eyebrows are looking sharp, I outline them with concealer using my Sigma Beauty F70 Concealer Brush and blend it in using my index finger.

Eyes

My favorite daytime look is a soft smokey eye. I start by priming my lids with the Elizabeth Arden Advanced Eye Fix Primer to ensure my eye shadows and liner stay put all day as well as preventing creasing and fading.

Next, I take my Stila Matte ‘N Metal Eyeshadow Palette to create a soft, neutral smokey eye. I usually start with the shade ‘Vintage‘, and darken it up a little with ‘Velour‘. If I’m feeling extra sparkly, I’ll take the shade ‘Sequin‘ and pat it onto my lid using my my index finger.

Next, I move onto liner! I start by tracing a line across my lid and extending it to create a subtle wing using the By Terry Ligne Blackstar So Black liner. The waterproof liner stays put all day and is super simple to use, helping you to create your desired look.

Next, I move onto my lashes! My go-to mascara is the Zelens Flirt Mascara. The water-resistant mascara defines, lengthens and volumizes the lashes to add real definition and drama to your look. The addition of Zelens’ unique peptide complex stimulates lash growth, helping to strengthen and grow the lashes and the blend of plant-derived ingredients means that it’s cruelty free and vegan, too!

Lips

On those days where I need a little extra color, a red lip is my go to. I trace the outline of my lips using the By Terry Crayon Levres Terrybly Perfect Lip Liner and fill them in with my favorite Illamasqua Lipstick in ‘Maneater‘. A red lip makes you appear like you’re oozing with confidence and really finishes off your makeup routine.

Setting It All In Place

After all of your hard work perfecting your makeup, it’s so important to set it in place. I cannot be without the Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray to keep my makeup looking flawless all day long.
