Those knowledgeable of skincare ingredients may recognize the thick, green, goopy gel natural skin maverick use in their skin and hair. But Aloe Vera is more than a trend, and here’s why your mom, friends, and even dermatologists stand by this super ingredient in skincare.
What is Aloe Vera?
Aloe Vera is sometimes described as a “wonder plant,” and for good reason. This short-stemmed shrub can and has been used as food, a herbal remedy, and as we know, a key ingredient in skincare and cosmetics.
The earliest record of a human use for Aloe Vera comes from the Ebers Papyrus (an Egyptian medical record) from the 16th century BC, where it was deemed “the plant of immortality.”
