When Kangan met REN

Kangan Arora’s childhood memories are of fine textiles, so it makes sense that she’s a Central Saint Martins alumni.

In 2011 she set up her namesake, London-based design studio. Her signature is easily identified through the celebratory use of color, pattern and abstraction – a kaleidoscopic ode to her Indian textile background.

Towards the end of 2016, Kangan was commissioned by global skincare brand REN, to design their 2016 holiday gift and mail-order packaging. Fronting their ‘little boxes of joy’ campaign, the studio created a number of graphic patterns abstracted from the detail of decorative wrapping paper, twinkling fairly lights and thick wintery textiles.

Bringing joy to your home

Not only does this fun collection house some of our REN favorites, such as the Moroccan Rose range, but each box is stamped with a darling quote (“Worry less. Laugh more”) and is reusable! They come with a small handle and pull open like drawers so that you or your friends can totally upscale the box and fill it with trinkets, postcards, ribbons or anything else you like.

These gift sets have made the perfect present for several lucky recipients over the holiday season. Amazingly we still have some little boxes of joy left – move quickly before they disappear.
