Do you love to have your nails look amazing but just do not have the time to go to the salon? Does it seem complicated and messy to paint your nails at home? Well, good news! We have a few tricks up our sleeves that will help you achieve the perfect mani at home.
Use glue to keep the polish off your skin and on your nails. All you need to do is apply a bit of Elmer’s Glue around your nails. Let it dry and then paint your nails as usual (you don’t even have to be neat about it!) Once your nail polish dries, simply peel the glue away and it will take any of the excess polish with it.
Sometimes your cuticles can get cracked and dry which can give your manicure a rough edge. However, all you need to do is dab a drop of olive oil on each cuticle. Then put on some mittens overnight and BAM! Your cuticles will be looking soft and good as new.
When you trim your nails, do the clippings fly everywhere to be lost until you step on them or find them in the most inappropriate places? Clipping your nails wet will avoid flying debris.
Fun fact: using a white base coat will brighten your neon color to the max.
Do you have old eye shadow lying around? Use it for nail polish! Crush it up and add some clear nail polish. Mix and apply to your nails for a unique, custom look.
Dry your nails in an instant! After you are done applying your nail polish, place your hand in a bath of ice water. It really works. The cold seals the polish instantly. Another method for quick-drying your nails is cooking spray. Yes, cooking spray! Spray on your freshly painted nails and it will cut your dry time in half. This also works and no, it won’t ruin your polish finish.
