What’s in a Name?
“The first step is admitting you have a problem,” says OCC CEO and make-up artist David Klasfeld. “I did, and the result is a line obsessively crafted from the finest ingredients possible, to celebrate the driving compulsions of make-up fanatics everywhere.”
Taking his OCD, which he was diagnosed with at 14, and turning it into something amazing, Klasfeld founded Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics in New York City circa 2004. OCC is inspired by the tricks that make-up artists use when they don’t have the right tools – OCC fills that gap. It lightly alludes to some of the wonderful traits Klasfeld has inhabited as a result of his disorder: precision, cleanliness and attention to detail.
