Dermablend has been the number 1 brand in camouflage makeup for over 30 years, recognized as an expert because of the exceptional performance that the brand delivers in terms of coverage, wearability and skin care benefits.

We particularly love Dermablend because of the fact it literally covers anything, whether it be acne, rosacea, scars or  redness and it is incredibly long lasting.

Rachel Short, Dermablend's Assistant Vice President, Education and Training representative recently hosted a Live Q&A to answer all of your questions about everything associated with the world of Dermablend.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the Q&A session:

  • Use a green primer to cancel out redness. If you have rosacea or other redness on your face, a green primer can help to neutralize the color and create a more even canvas for makeup.
  • Use a full-coverage foundation to conceal blemishes. For severe acne or other blemishes, a full-coverage foundation is the best way to achieve a flawless finish.
  • Use a concealer to target specific areas. A concealer can be used to target specific areas of concern, such as dark circles under the eyes or blemishes on the chin.
  • Set your makeup with powder to prevent it from fading. Once you're finished applying makeup, be sure to set it with powder to prevent it from fading throughout the day.

Q What is one product in your line would you recommend for redness and rosacea?
A
I would recommend you try the Smooth Liquid Camo Foundation and Concealer. It's a hydrating formula that will sooth redness and also has a SPF 25 that won't burn your skin! Instant coverage with benefits!
Q What provides better coverage the cream foundation or the liquid foundation?
A
Both are great coverage but or Cover Creme provides immediate ultimate full coverage! Simply tap to build the coverage to your desire!
Q Does the loose setting powder work after foundation for all skin tones and types? Also, does the makeup remover remove eye makeup as well thank you!
A
Yes, the Loose Setting Powder works with any foundation to lock it in for 16 hours! of course, we prefer it best with Dermablend foundations, but it sets with others.  Yes, the makeup remover can be used around the eye, but I recommend you apply to dampened cotton first to avoid any getting in your eye!
Q How do I get a flawless base?
A
To get a flawless base, you want to make sure you have the right shade. I recommend you identify your undertone. Are you more cool, neutral or warm? Look at the veins in your wrist. Cool tones usually show blue/purple. Warm tones are more green/olive and if your neutral, you show both. We have this listed as C,W or N next to each product so you know how to get the best match for you!
Q What about makeup for the body, is the formula the same as what is found in your concealer and foundation for the face?
A
It is not the same formula! Our Leg and Body Makeup is designed for the different skin on your body. It's more hydrating (no need to apply lotion), has an SPF 25 and a smooth liquid texture. It covers flawlessly while leaving the skin feeling smooth. Make sure to set with our Original Loose Setting Powder to keep it locked in and looking good for 16 hours!
Q I have tanned skin with even darker melasma spots on my forehead. Will your cream concealer provide buildable coverage without looking cakey?
A
Yes! I suggest either our Cover Creme for all over foundation, or the Quick-Fix Concealer. Both are a creamy full coverage that will cover any concern in seconds! Just make sure to warm it up before applying. That will warm up the high-performance pigments and give you the smoothest result! They both contain SPF 30, so you can be confident that it's protecting your melasma from getting darker. Don't forget to set too!
Q What foundation would you recommend for daily wear that doesn't feel too heavy on my face?
A
I recommend our Intense Powder Camo. It's a lightweight Powder that provides buildable coverage. You won't even feel it, but it gives you a smooth velvety finish- my favorite when I just want something simple and effective!
Q Does this line work on aging skin? I'm 54 and don't want a thick foundation look that dries my skin.
A
Absolutely! We were created by a Dermatologist so we always have the skin, at any age, in mind when we formulate product. I recommend our Smooth Liquid Camo as it's a hydrating liquid and super easy to use. It won't dry out your skin and it also has an SPF 25 to keep your skin protected!
Q And what kind of coverage you think would be better to cover brown spots from further sun damage?
A
Great question! We are proud to be a company that plans to reduce our carbon footprint by 2020. This includes using recycled boxes down to our production line using more solar/green energy!
Q What is a good product to cover acne scars?
A
Try our Blurring Mousse Camo! It's designed to smooth texture, cover and leave the skin matte like a powder.  It was created for acne scars ad irregular texture.
Q How do you choose the right starter kit, finding the right shade has always been a hit or miss with me!
A
To get the right shade, you want to make sure you have the right undertone.
