No-one does it like Gisele Bündchen. There’s a reason the 5ft 10in Brazillian übermodel has been the world’s top-earning since 2004, despite retiring from the runway last year. She’s been on over 7,000 magazine covers throughout the world – a total that is second only to Princess Diana, and in 2012 Vogue.it described her as “the King Midas of fashion” because “everything she touches turns to gold”.
To celebrate a true legend’s birthday, we’re sharing some of the beauty lessons we picked up from Gisele and her make-up artist.
Less is MoreBuy now with free delivery
Gisele is ‘THE glow’ and is known to favor less makeup when she’s not on the set or the catwalk. She says that less make-up allows her angles to come through. In fact, day-to-day she only applies foundation around the eyes, mouth and chin – the areas she experiences a little redness.
Go easy on your base with Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation Serum, designed to instantly soften imperfections and visible reduce the appearance of wrinkles and pores. It’s fluid, it’s semi-matte and it’s luxurious. It comes in a one-shade-suits-all color too.
Don't Forget to Powder Your NoseBuy now with free delivery
“Powder your T-zone and the lines going from your nose down around your mouth so you don’t look like a bulldog,” Giselle told Elle, “because when those areas are shiny, it’s awful”.
Try Jurlique’s Rose Silk Finishing Powder. It will refine your complexion with a translucent finish and help to maintain a healthy balance of natural skin oils, reducing shine and leaving you feeling calm and collected.

If you’re doing a smoky eye, use a little beige or gold pencil on the inner eye corners to open up the area. Only do it if the shadow is really dark otherwise, Gisele warned in a 2007 interview with Elle, your eyes will look too far apart – like a fish.
Try Jane Iredale’s Eye Highlighter Pencil in Double Dazzle to lift your eye make-up.
Don't Go LowBuy now with free delivery
Gisele favors a hint of blush only on the apple of her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. It’s a trick that makes her rouge look natural. If you apply blusher below the cheekbone, it pulls the face downwards.

You Don't Always Need a BrushBuy now with free delivery
Gisele doesn’t own a hairbrush. “After I apply conditioner, I pass my fingers through my hair and let it dry naturally,” she says. “Every once in awhile, I comb my hair in the shower, but I don’t comb or brush after that.”
Remember, Gisele gets her hair brushed by stylists on a regular basis. For us mortals, this may not be the best way to change up your hair routine, but you should consider brushing less.
