Images of bright, bold, iconic red lips. The look of confidence? We thought so too.
Surprisingly, women have stepped forward and claimed that in actual fact, it’s nude colored lipsticks that make them feel better about themselves. When quizzed about their self-confidence and their natural beauty for SkinStore’s survey, three quarters of ladies got lippy about their choice.
When asked which lipstick shade gave them more self-confidence, nude shades were voted the number 1, making women feel more attractive and ‘prettier’.
The question is: bright pillar-box lipstick, where art thou? It scrapes in at number 5. In second place was pink shades, followed by deep berry red.
With the ‘no make-up make-up’ look becoming much more popular throughout 2016, this natural, stripped back and muted color palette suggests women feel much more confident when wearing neutral shades. Even bareMinerals have used this whole nude, matte trend to develop their latest lip color lines, GEN NUDE.
